Red Badger and Fortnum & Mason won at both the BIMA Awards and the eCommerce Awards this month.
We aren't usually ones to brag, but we just had to tell you about this! We took home the trophy for Best Web Design & Build at the BIMA Awards and Best eCommerce New Design; we could not be prouder.
Red Badger’s approach was different from the start. Instead of responding in the traditional way to the RFP the company decided to take a ‘show not tell’ approach. The team ran a two day hackathon internally to deliver a minimum viable product: an eCommerce site that would enable them to demonstrate their thinking to Fortnum’s.
By working in full collaboration with both Fortnum’s and its customers throughout and testing at every phase, we have delivered a brand new, fully responsive site in just eight months.
We were up for Best Customer Retailer as well as the Best Web Design & Build Award, so the tension was running high by the time the second award was announced. We were up against some great competition; the shortlist included Ngoar with Webcredible, Razorfish and M&C Saatchi London.
Members of both Fortnum’s and the Badger teams were at the event on September 17th. It was a little different to the usual award ceremony format, being more of a party with canapés and bowl food, endless drinks and Norman Jay MBE on the ones and twos.
Some awesome moves where pulled on the dancefloor, and once we’d won, the wine was replaced with celebratory (but not personalised) champagne!
The eCommerce Awards for Excellence is the most prestigious evening in the ecommerce calendar. On the 30th September, in its 7th year, the Awards celebrated the very best the industry had to offer from groundbreaking innovations and campaign to customer service excellence and revenue growth.
